Song Story:  THE  MUSIC:   

As with many Psalms songs, the lyrics of the New King James version of the scriptures were crafted quickly-- an evidence of this being by the Holy Spirit's help rather than any skill of mine (see Ephesians 3:20-21) while I was working out on the gym's elliptical machine. 

The words of the psalms simply fall into place as song lyrics. 

I am convinced that the LORD God is drawing us to praise Him 

as one Body with His people the Jews-- 

who God will graft us into joining if we choose (see His promises in Romans 11 etc). 

And one way is to 

have music for His original psalms. 

 See Zephaniah 3.... the LORD YHWH sings over us.

Should we not sing back our joy at all His gifts.... 

including His compassionate and even 

scientifically shown evidence of goodness for the LORD's Torah laws? 

Matthew 11:30 – 

Jesus was declaring the FULFILLMENT of the prophecy of Isaiah 9:6, 

declaring Himself as God along with the Father and Holy Spirit (counselor) - 

when he said 

"MY Burden – a common word for TORAH LAW – is light."

For indeed, when you carefully examine the only 613 laws 

                            (compared to any nation's  THOUSANDS of laws)... 

they each are full of compassion and 

caring for other people as well as 

a way of showing LOVE by obedience 

to our Most Holy and Righteous and Just LORD.

And Jesus NEVER    said that there are ONLY 2 commandments
               (Love God, Love People) as some churches teach.

Mark 12:31 CLEARLY says there *ARE* more than 2 commandments. 
Starting with the first 10.

Song Story: 

1.   I was checking out my “untitled” folder... 

was interested in the studio file I'd done a few weeks earlier called 

   untitled Dm Rag             <<  D Minor Ragtime beat >>

with my piano on top of a canned drum loop.

2.   Started playing with the song.

3.   Completed the drums and that bass line I really like.

4.   Corrected jazz timing for the piano;  then

5.   added sax track to guide me when I would be recording the 

           vocals at the studio, since the melody is a bit tricky.

6:

Only after I finished the MUSIC tracks 

did I pull out my Bible and ask God, OK, what should I do with this? 

 

Since I had been working on the Psalm 119 series, 1-1/2 years after I first had the concept to do this (while in a summer-long Bible Study on this single Psalm).... 

I opened my Bible to Psalm 119. It fell to Zayin.

The words fit the jazz meter of the already-created music.  

My Hebrew instructor / Shabbat fellowship leader Rick Blankenship had 

come to the studio to record the entire Hebrew alphabet,

 since I knew I'd never pronounce the letters right! 

As a last-minute thought which I am sure the Holy Spirit provided, 

         I asked Rick to also provide the meaning for each Hebrew Letter.

On the same studio night, the producer recorded and 

did his audio improvements to a track where I read 

the entire Psalm 119 straight through.

KEEPING IN MIND THAT   I RECORDED THE SCRIPTURES 

LONG BEFORE THE MUSIC   >>>   

NOTICE THE CHORD THAT THE WORD “INDIGNATION” LANDS ON 

IN THE READING. 

           It's a REALLY weird,  HARSH  chord. 

When I had first recorded that chord, it was a MISTAKE----- 

BUT  I liked its weirdness, so I just kept the piano track unchanged. 

     In fact, I EMPHASIZED the mistake by making it the melody note! 

And I did NOT plan this location for the scripture to land on.... a harsh chord for “indignation.” I just dropped in the scripture track and it landed there. 

This is GOD'S planning... 

and it has happened a number of times, as earlier stories tell.

And so for this song, I created a project that cut out the pieces for the Zayin scripture reading and Rick's alphabet reading. And thus God has guided yet another of His songs of Psalms for His people that puts HIS Words to music. This is God's project that I am honored to develop under the Holy Spirit's guidance and empowering. -ddo

The Phrase means we're not under the condemnation POWER of the Law-- 

as Paul clearly says in Romans 6: 6.

It Does NOT say that   God who never changes  changed His mind and ended the Law.

Song Story. 

Almost all the Psalm 119 sections have been formatted into music lyrics

measures while exercising on an elliptical machine... better than watching all the bad

news on TV in the gym! I'm excited at how quickly the Holy Spirit guides me to not only

fit God's Word into the meter, but how so often the words rhyme or are pseudo rhymes.

During afternoons, I type gym paper notes into my computer. And when I get

down to my home studio to begin looking for melodies that seem to fit the theme and

“feel” of God's Bible words.... well, there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY to explain how

quickly I complete 4 to 8 tracks for a song before taking it to one of my two professional

studios for recording vocals... Except for God fulfilling His promises in 

Ephesians 3: 20-21 to empower people for HIS Glory. 

One studio's producer provides lead guitar tracks

(or I record my own guitar or bass tracks there).

The 2nd studio's producer often sits & immediately plays wonderful drums and 

slap-pop bass, which I haven't mastered:) We must beware of no longer

considering scriptures just because we've always been taught that “they mean this: ____.” 

Jesus told the woman he saved from stoning and a man he healed, 

“GO AND SIN NO MORE”. Jesus did NOT say “GO &

DON'T SIN FOR THE NEXT 18 or 24 MONTHS TIL I DIE & FULFILL THE LAW.”

That's what's being said when claiming Jesus “fulfilled the law” means more than He

kept the Law... for He clearly said the Law won't end before THE WORLD does.

John 15: Jesus ALSO clearly said that if you want to be His friend, you must obey His

Word-- John 15. Jesus is God... remember? Hebrews 13:8... God who WROTE the

Torah laws? Don't let Satan twist your logic so you miss all the obvious in God's Word.

Pray for wisdom-- God offers it for FREE... James 1: 5-6. LOVE our LORD and show it

by obedience to our Most Holy and Righteous and Just God.
