Song Story: THE LYRICS:
Not surprisingly, I wrote this song to encourage myself against a specific "ordinary" temptation that I refuse to accept just because people call it normal. This became my morning prayer, and God helped me craft this into one of my earliest songs from Him.
I repeatedly use -- in many songs -- the phrase "I CHOOSE". In fact, the 3rd verse of
my song
"I Choose Your Choice" was the VERY first song idea God gave to me,
while waiting for a music concert to begin at the ALIVE Festival in Canton Ohio USA.
Too often, we get CARELESS.... we forget that every giving in to something was OUR choice, CHOICE being a gift from God. We can't "pass the buck", blame someone or something else. Didn't fool God with Adam and Eve. Didn't work for Jonah explaining 'why he ran.'
God knows our hearts.... and carelessness is not a permission from Him.

I put on Your shoes of Peace. God, help me believe Your Peace.
I hold high Your Shield of Faith. I trust in God -- not me.

I shall hold up God's Shield when I'm tempted to do wrong
through this Day -- I need You, God!
