STILL WATERS (Psalm 23:2)
ALBUM: Amazing Psalms 'n' Promises

Song Story:
THE MUSIC.... written in 1/2 hour on my "travel guitar", beside "still waters" that I "accidentally" (in God's guiding way) found while desperately driving anywhere.... anywhere.....
Song Story: THE LYRICS:
God led me to this special place by a quiet river at a time of horrendous distress.... and it has become my quiet place to worship and listen to Him. This quiet, simple song, was written there on the day that I “accidentally” found a river inlet.... written in deep grief, but under the comforting blanket of God's loving Presence.
God has a special place for YOU.... just tell Him you yearn to obey Psalm 46:10 but need His help to find “Still Waters” if there's no quiet place you have yet found...
Dedicated to our Comforting God, 16 January 2011
LYRICS
1
Here I am, God, beside still waters.
Here You are, God, right beside me.
You, God, lead me beside still waters.
I'll follow You wherever You lead: Psalm 23, verse 2.
2
Storms of life rage all around me.
Griefs and sorrows, dark doubts and pain.
Yet, You, Lord go with me to show still waters.
With Your help, Jesus, I forever trust You: Psalm 27, verse 11.
3
God, You know my heart's desire.
You know all my passions, my hopes and my dreams.
Yet I trust You, Lord where You lead me.
I'll be still and just know You're god: Psalm 46: verse 10.
4
Still waters run deep, I have been told.
Jesus, I pray that you'll please give me grace to
deeply trust You......... Lord where You lead me, I'll
be still ............. and rest in You: Psalm 46: verse 10.
REFERENCES:
Psalm 124: 4, 5, 8: "Then the waters would have overwhelmed us, The stream would have gone over our soul; Then the swollen waters Would have gone over our soul.... Our help is in the name of the LORD, Who made heaven and earth." NOTE: THIS IS THE SCRIPTURE THAT LED TO MY MUSIC MINISTRY that God has honored me with.... see the song ABOVE MY SORROW SEA.
from Jonah Chapter 2
Jonah disobeyed God blatantly, like a child having a tantrum. His punishment COULD have been death, and he did suffer consequences (the "whale" story:) YET, from his story came the most BEAUTIFUL example of how God SAVES YOU:
Then Jonah prayed to the LORD his God from the fish's belly. And he said: "I cried out to the LORD because of my affliction, And He
answered me. Out of the belly of Sheol I cried, and You heard my
voice.... Then I said, 'I have been cast out of Your sight;
Yet I will look again toward Your holy temple.' The waters surrounded me, even to my soul; The deep closed around me; Weeds were wrapped around my head.... When my soul fainted within me, I remembered the LORD; And my prayer went up to You, Into Your holy temple. Those who regard worthless idols forsake their own Mercy. But I will sacrifice to You with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay what I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD." So the LORD spoke to the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land.
