ALBUM: Amazing Power 'n' Prayers
Song location: http://DianaDeeOsborneSongs.com/Songs-2008-2012.php
Song Story: THE LYRICS:
I wrote this simple song as I prayed for specific church leaders. It's based on Ephesians 6: 10-18 and Jesus's description of church shepherds, plus Isaiah 40:11 and 63:11, Ezekiel 34.
As our churches grow stronger in serving God in His Spirit's power,
then obviously Satan will rise against them to try to stir up evil *especially* in God's Church.
Why do we have this superstition that churches are exempt from the testing God allows to come to build us up (James 1)? Through Paul's writings writings, you can 'hear' God's sadness that those who share Christ's gospel were not treated with respect, were not supported with prayer. (1st Corinthians 9, for example.) The harder anyone works for our Lord, the more that person is a threat... a target for Satan. Let us all honor (and obey) God by keeping each other in prayer.... especially our pastors and church leaders.
Dedicated to our church shepherds & The Shepherd, 5 March 2010.
A personal anniversary prayer.
LYRICS
1I pray, God, for our pastor and spouse.
God, please strengthen them.
You God, our Holy Shepherd know
we, Your sheep are stubborn.
Please lift their hearts and strengthen them.
God, surround them with love, with friends.
Protect them from Satan's hate for them
while they serve You.
2I pray, God, for our Church leaders.
God, please strengthen them.
You God, our Holy Shepherd know
we, Your sheep are stubborn.
Please lift their hearts and strengthen them.
God, surround them with love, Church friends.
Protect them from Satan's hate for them
while they serve You.
3I pray, God, for our Church people.
God, please strengthen us.
You God, our Holy Shepherd know
we, Your sheep are stubborn.
Please lift our hearts and strengthen us.
God, surround us with love, Church friends.

while we serve You.
God's SUPPORTING WORDS:
“Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and doctrine....” -- see First Timothy, especially 5:17; and First Corinthians Chapter 9. See especially Verse 14, New Living Translation:
"In the same way, the Lord ordered that those who preach the Good News should be supported by those who benefit from it."
