Today is the American Monday rememberance   of all the Veterans who have fought for our freedoms to speak, to work, to worship, to simply LIVE.... Throughout God's early writings through the Pentateuch, the Histories, and the Prophets,    called the Old Testament, 
        we see examples of how Almighty God  *LETS*  people choose to ignore Him.  How God lets us see what happens when we say "We're free, we don't need any God."  
May we learn our lessons and return to God quickly enough to save our nation ....

Song Story: 
       One Memorial Day weekend, I read John 8:36 and made the instant connection to the holiday:  In the U.S.A., and other countries, 100s of 1000s of persons have died to help others be free.  Jesus died to set us free.  But He calls us to respond with a relationship -- not with a once a year celebration like Christmas.   Like Veteran's DAY.   Dedicated to Jesus Who Sets Us Free, 29 May and 11 Oct 2010.

Jesus said if you __  sin,
you're a slave indeed ----                       SLAVE  INDEED!
    John  EIGHT in verse 34.
Only HE can free.
And if you let Jesus free you,

    Call to Jesus, “Come free me!”          CALL TO JESUS, COME FREE ME!
    Then  you WILL   be set free.

God's SUPPORTING WORDS:

From the PENTATEUCH:  Deuteronomy Chapter 30.  Focus on 15 to 19,  promises that were extended to Gentiles after Jesus came (see Romans 11),  including those who migrated to North America:

GOD SPEAKING:    "See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil,  in that I command you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live.... But if your heart turns away so that you do not hear, and are drawn away, and worship other gods and serve them, I announce to you today that you shall surely perish... I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;  that you may love the LORD your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days...."

John 8:34 and 36  NKJV   --

34   “Jesus answered them, 'Most assuredly, I say to you, 

         whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. .... 36  Therefore 

if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.'”
