ALBUM: Amazing LORD 'n' Logic
Song location: http://DianaDeeOsborneSongs.com/Songs-2008-2012.php
Song Story: THE MUSIC: This was quickly written on a 60-degree Valentine's Day in a lovely wooded park, guitar in hand by sparkling running waters.
Watching a couple get married. I've often wondered --
Did they plan all along to get marred on February 14th outdoors, & just lucked out?
Or did they watch the weather forecast and say "Hey, let's get marred in a couple of days?Getting married is a RISK. You might get hurt.
Yet people keep getting married. And rejoicing in the challenges, and growing in the tears.
Having children is a RISK. They might be selfish and ungrateful despite all you do for them.
Leaving a good paying job to pursue a dream is a RISK.
We're always making decisions where we might FAIL -- another risk.So what's the big deal about exploring whether the words about Jesus in the Bible are true? Isn't a safe experiment to pray like people in the Bible and see what happens?
(NOTICE that I didn't say "like people in church". God's pattern is the only one to follow.)
WHAT CAN IT HURT? HURT? HURT? HURT? HURT?
Dedicated to God, Who's waiting for us to Seek, 14 Feb 2011
LYRICS
You're one thought from happiness. You're one thought from joy and peace.
You're one thought away from rest for your
soul, your mind, your WHOLE heart.... your LIFE.
That one thought is "Just maybe
Jesus Christ is real and cares for me?
Can it hurt to pray to air, just in
case He is really there and cares for me?
(quiet, speaking to one's own self):
Why not give it a try?
Why not give God a try?
What can it hurt to pray to air?
At worse I'll still have this hurt.
(prayer to air:)
Jesus, if You're there....
Jesus if You're there and you care.....
Jesus, I don't really believe, but --
At worse I'll still have this pain.
At worse, I'll still be lonely.
At worse, I'll still have these fears. WHAT CAN IT HURT?
(speaking to one's own self:)
What can it hurt to pray to the air,
in case God is there and He cares -- like the Bible says?
WHAT CAN IT HURT? HURT? HURT? HURT? HURT?
(see First John Chapter One, see God's promise to seekers in Jeremiah 29: 11 to 29:13)
God's SUPPORTING WORDS:
"Ask, and it will be given to you;
seek, and you WILL find;
knock, and it will be opened to you.For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. ...If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children,
how much more will your Father who is in heaven
give good things to those who ask Him! “ -- Matthew 7: 7-11 NKJV
BY THE WAY -- CREATING US WAS **NOT** A RISK FOR GOD, Who knows the future.
He knew how much people would hurt Him. Yet He made each of us anyway.
