Song Story:  THE  MUSIC:
It was actually rather hard to come up with a really dorky recording to match the dorky melody and piano for the dorky Part 1 prayer (from us to God).  And Claxton at Valley Worship & Praise Studio  gave me an odd look when I asked for a very dorky percussion..... :)

Song Story:  THE  LYRICS:
I REALLY REALLY wanted to write a song for our LORD that expressed
sorrow at the way we treat Him after all He does for us.  God answered with this song.
Romans 8:26, God's promise for you also                        -- New Living Translation:
“And the Holy Spirit helps us in our distress.
For we don't even know what we should pray for, nor how we should pray.
But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot
        be expressed in words.”
GOD GAVE ME THIS PRAY-ED FOR SONG
on the SORROW-FILLED FIRST ANNIVERSARY  of a deep church sorrow... I thank Him
for the reminder of His love and guidance especially on that date!
Dedicated to our Lord, 10 March 2009

LYRICS
VERBAL INTRODUCTION
It is astounding!    God, the Creator of the universe, actually INVITES us to come talk with
Him!   For example, through Hebrews 4:16,  God invites you and me to “COME BOLDLY to the Throne of Grace,  that we may obtain MERCY and FIND GRACE to help in time of need.”   God even tells us through words like those of Jesus Himself in John 15,  that we are His FRIEND.
But so often, our prayers are a  ONE-way speaking  AT
our God that sound something like this........

Part 1 –   Me praying to God
Start quote marks here:  “Knock, knock, I'm here.
Not much to say.  Help me this day.
Help me work quick.  Thanks, I'm not sick.
My car sure is.  Please help with this.

Food costs are high.  Help me get by.
No fair -- they're  rich.   I   deserve this.
She's mad again.  Give her wisdom.
He's been bad too.  Forgive, will You?

Oh, yeah -- I need  Your love, I plead.
Give me much peace.  From fears, release.
And -- oh,  no rain  for today's game.
Forget me not.  Don't wanna be hot.
Nice to talk to You, God -- that's all my prayer.
So guess  I'll say   Amen. “        END QUOTE.

 READING:   God's SUPPORTING WORDS:
Job 41:10 NIV, re the leviathan monster:  “Can you put a cord through his nose or pierce his jaw  with a hook? ... No one is fierce enough to rouse him. Who then is able to stand against Me?”
Even with other people,  if there is a silence, we tend to try to fill it by speaking.    So,    it is UNDERSTAND-able to forget that prayer goes TWO  ways -----   also LISTENING for  God’s voice.  God tells us through Psalm 46:10,   “Be STILL and know that I am God.”      In  John 5 and 8, Jesus spoke of  HONORING God.
Our great God is NOT some creature to be TAMED, as  His words tell us in JOB Chapter 41.   God is NOT a fairy godmother, granting wishes that WE call “prayers.”

Part 2 –   GOD praying to me  (praying = 2-way)

What kind of prayer is this?  You do all the talking?
Would you treat friends like this --
start asking favors as soon as you walk in the door?

Do you think God is your servant?
Do you think I will just step in your leash?
Only the foolish dare pet the wild lion.
Only the foolish think they can pet Me.

       (quiet)
There is no formula to win prayer answers.
I am your Friend and I yearn to be more... than

        (LOUD)
some fairy godmother to grant your wishes and
think I must answer if you pray right words?

If you talked to friends like some people pray,
speaking just idle chat, then asking stuff,
You would indeed be without one true friend.

And yet My love for you never will end.
Despite some self-centered prayers that you say,
I yearn to be with you through every day.
I love you too much to demand My way,
If you don't want the real God, I'll obey
your free-will wish to not be my friend!

Psalm 46, verse 10:      Stop running as you pray.      [NKJV]
Psalm 46: verse 10:      Stop running as you pray.   [Living NLT]
“Be still....know I am God,  and I love you”..........

           Stay and pray.

God's SUPPORTING WORDS:
"Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world."
                           -- Psalm 46: 10       New Living Translation
