When's the last time you heard a sermon about Diotrephes?
Probably never. We NEED to hear about Diotrephesian
churches that BICKER and argue to have their own way IN CHURCH.
            Check out what GOD said about Diotrephes to warn ALL of us 2,100 years later..... the book of Third John, Chapter 1, verses 8 to 10. God through Paul calls him a “MALICIOUS” CHURCH MEMBER “who loves to have preeminence among them...”   The church shepherd (pastor) didn't yet have the lead that God had entrusted to him in that church family ...

        Most sermons about the end of Ephesians 6 concern us as individuals praying for God's help in spiritual battles. However, the chapter divisions are like helpful bookmarks, but not significant subject dividers.... Paul did not create them.
This entire book repeatedly refers to The Church, the Body of Christ. Yes, we can apply it to our own lives at home. Yes, it does show us how to pray for God's protection. But it's also directions for the CHURCH people as a group. God through Paul is telling the entire CHURCH BODY to work and pray   together as
united -- not unTied --
Church Warriors for   God's Truth and Gospel
against God's very real enemy, Satan.

Song Story: THE MUSIC:

The radio announcer really did warn the Capital City drivers to avoid a street whose light was “stuck on red.” But obviously the warning came too late for those already there. I was driving in light traffic elsewhere, but my immediate thought went to all the trials and failures I'd experienced during the week... of how it seemed as if my life was 'stuck on red' with me going nowhere.

Thankfully, God brought to my memory many other times when I'd felt that way... and later learned great blessings during the wait. Back to Psalm 46:10, a frequent reference in my songs for a reason! Blessings I never would have noticed if I'd been racing down my life's road without being forced to stop. Have you ever noticed the second verse of the 23rd Psalm?

The Lord MAKES us lie down by still waters to rest.... for our good.
But we must be careful to use the 'stuck' time to remember and talk with and follow our Lord... so we won't need to be stuck 40 years in our life's wilderness before listening to His wise and loving guidance.

Song Story: THE LYRICS:

I'd finished most of the song lines before searching Isaiah 9 to find the “Handel's Messiah” source verse that I remembered clearly SAYS that the Christ Child is SON and GOD and FATHER and COUNSELOR. We know the Holy Spirit is our Counselor, from Jesus's words in John 14 and 15 (KJV). When I found the verse that needed to be fitted after line i which ends in the Name, “CHRIST,” I loudly said, “COOL! IT RHYMES!”
I did not PLAN that. God clearly put the TRINITY into Isaiah 9:6 that all of Israel recognizes as prophecy of the coming Messiah. Dedicated to our Logical God, 25 November 2012

Song Story: THE MUSIC:

I kept the motion of the melody very simple, a lot of "scale runs" (consecutive notes). Not to make the song easy to sing, but to make it easy to LISTEN to. To avoid distracting listeners with "interesting music" so that they can't focus as well on the message of the song. For this is truly an amazing song story. Notice that the album is the LOGIC album. I most assuredly am not super-intelligent. The connections that I "suddenly" saw on October first were truly connections from God. I've sought and sought and NEVER heard an acceptable reason from any preacher or book to explain "how could God DO this?"

Song Story: THE LYRICS:

    A lot of research went into this song. Several translations of concordances were used a lot!   A lot of review went into this song --- a few “hard-sayings-Bible-studying Christ-followers who know I want honesty” reviewed the lyrics for me. While praying.
    A lot of prayers for wisdom (James 1:5) goes into EVERY song I develop for LORD God,   for one of my deepest awarenesses is that I SHALL drift into “The Error of human teachings” instead of God's Truth if I depend on my own feelings rather than praying for God's wisdom as I craft HIS Bible words (not just “ideas”) into songs.

    The song idea itself is The Holy Spirit's guiding, I confidently declare. Persons for whom I cared deeply kept telling me
they questioned the ability to trust the Bible words
about God's compassion
when He would kill an innocent baby like David's.
    My seeing connections between these scriptures and the LOGIC that wars for the throne like those of English history would have exploded throughout Israel if this child lived to adulthood is the Holy Spirit's Wisdom, I confidently declare.
    Even trusting God when we don't have PROOF of His compassion -- though we have innumerable EVIDENCES of it both in scriptures and in our lives -- it itself the Holy Spirit's gifting, I confidently declare. We each can confidently declare.

THIRD OF DESPAIR AND HOPE

Song Story: THE MUSIC:

     The key change between verses was an "accident." This is one of my first songs recorded at Valley Worship & Praise, and I was unfamiliar with the controller board. I was supposed to hit the button for changing to an octave higher for the piano track. SOMEHOW... I still don't know how except a "GOD-how"... I hit the button twice in 2 ways, adding the octave I expected but also transposing not 1 but 2 steps up. We had already done all the other tracks before I finally figured out the cause of my confusion when my bass-playing didn't match the music for the second page. So I kept the key change -- I quite frequently keep "mistakes" in my music thinking that perhaps they are God's guidance.
            And QUITE often, statistically more often than is human math, we later realize that the mistakes improve the song.
           The key change adds drama to the song that ** I ** didn't think of. It's God!

Song Story: THE LYRICS:

This is the true story behind how God started "my" DiDoReflections ministry of music:
- DIE TO SELF
- DO FOR CHRIST
- REFLECT GOD - All with the HOLY SPIRIT's WISDOM & POWER.
       God used a story of snowballing horrible church events
that caused me to have much heart-wrenching deep sorrow .... I even began joking with God that my tears at the altar might grow mildew under the carpet (see song "Broken & Healed Prayer")
into God's music ministry through me that potentially could bring the MIRACLE STORY of God's yet-again-proven loving (living)
FAITHFUL-NESS and HOPE to people around His World.

        This story contains too many coincidences to be mere coincidence... And in your life also,
may you see God's miraculous workings to show You His love, to remind you of Jeremiah 29: 11-14.... He does have a great plan for you. May the songs on DiDoReflections.com remind you of Romans 8:28 -- No matter what people and events do to you, God can weave that into the HOPE He has promised to you.
      May the many God-incidences reflected in this song also remind you ------
   God will answer YOU in the time of YOUR despair. In life, there will sometimes be sorrow, as Jesus Himself sorrowed -- for example, see Luke 22:44. But

with our loving God of HOPE,

there is NEVER cause for despair amidst the sadnesses of life.
You just need to humbly and respectfully ask God, Who has already invited you: Psalm 145:18 's PROMISE from God:

“The LORD is near to ALL who call upon Him,

sent to me a “man of God” who guided me and prayed. A
man I had not seen for years but trusted with my life. A
   man God knew I could turn to......... to survive...... this deep strife.

It happened in one March... and ON THE THIRD DAY, God
opened a flood gate of songs to comfort Those Who seek. A
flood to help them know God lifts us “Above Sorrow Sea”s! A
   flood of HOPE-filled words from God....... to survive...... this deep strife.

It happened in one March, and IN THE THIRD MONTH, I
yearned to serve God with His songs, but was completely stumped. And
then God sent a web site pro to create this great site,
   Three months after heartbreak started.....
               God brought the World.... songs of Light.

The third of three months   since heart break first began, that
December God sent me a recording studio man, a
God gifted man who loved God and as his ministry, chose
   to serve God by recording.... God's songs of HOPE..... HOPE for You.

It happened on Good Friday, Jesus died upon that cross. For
3 days, those who loved Him sorrowed, grieving for their loss. But
then Jesus arose again, victorious over the grave!

Three days after heartbreak started....

      Jesus proved God ..... does give HOPE.

No matter what your sorrow,
       Jesus offers you His hope.
John Chapter 14, Chapter 15,
         and 16 give hope.
Jesus said seek and you'll find. __
I'm here! Just call to Me. Choose to believe
       Jesus loves you..... and turns despair... into HOPE.

before God's Holy Spirit began pouring HIS power through me to

While waiting for a church worship time to begin, I was flipping through the Bible looking for psalms that are not in the Book of Psalms.
It certainly seems that God guided me to this one, because the song just flowed out in minutes, -- in the words of God's Word, in an easy 4/4 rhythm. The next day I sat at the piano before band practice and quickly sketched out the melody and chords. Yet another song that is surely not mine but our Lord's :)

Song Story: THE MUSIC:

Claxton Wilson, my Studio #2/Master Studio Producer, was just playing bass riffs one night during our break. I asked him to record a track, went downstairs for coffee, came back and took his track home with my new songs. A few days later, I finished adding jazz piano bits, drums, and counter-part horns. Later found this Psalm to fit in words From God. Another song written in less than two hours. Another gifting song from God.

Somehow I recorded this entire song with the wrong scripture reference:

It should be John 16:33, not Chapter 17. So I pray God helps people "figure it out" since there aren't that many verses in 17. That they find His RIGHT word despite my mistake. Another evidence of how much we... I... need His wisdom....

Song Story: THE MUSIC: I literally sat at my home studio keyboard controller and was just “playing” with various chord progressions when this music began to “unfold.” In a few hours. This is God's beautiful work.... I just developed His wonderfully creative ideas.

Song Story: THE LYRICS:

          Not surprisingly, this song was written during a series of dangerously fierce thunderstorms, rather unusual in December in this part of the world. Verse 2 was written after the Day of the Tornadoes, when I was in Alabama, USA (April 2011).
   Since the power had gone off hours earlier -- we were sure the storms were OVER at 2 PM, and we went shopping for food supplies. The worst storms hit less than an hour after we safely got back to our sheltering house. We've talked to other people -- Most did NOT know that worse storms were coming. And -- in our lives-- we never know. But God is ALWAYS waiting to shelter us. Matthew 23: 37 has a beautiful picture of Jesus's welcoming arms for you.
         More than that.... this was a song gift from God during a HURRICANE within my heart... As I wrote and prayed AMID the storm outside me and the storm within me, God brought this to mind:---
No matter where we are, whatever the storm,
Jesus CAN and WILL still do what He promised in John 16:33 -----
Jesus still overcomes whatever the world tries to pound against us.
Even YOUR, your..... hurricane tribulations   and thundering sorrows.
