Song Story:   THE LYRICS
I wrote this during the 2012 CREATION Music Festival in Pennsylvania USA.  I was flipping through the Bible and came across Hosea 12, which contains some of the SADDEST words that could exist.  Verses 5 and 6 where GOD is speaking:
“Israel's arrogance testifies against them; the Israelites,
even Ephraim, stumble in their sin; Judah also stumbles with them.  When they go with their flocks and herds to seek the LORD, they will not find Him;
He has withdrawn himself from them.
They are unfaithful to the LORD...”
Do WE expect God to stay when we choose SATAN as our lion?

Song Story:   THE MUSIC
I do NOT know why I wrote the piano as alternating arpeggio notes  at the beginning of the song.... except to say that the Holy Spirit inspired it.  I don't believe I've done that before for a recorded song.

The cellos line bring tears to my heart.... I just sat and played, based on the chords in the written music.  Somehow... a God how... the cellos bring a deep sorrow to this song that should indeed remind us:
We have joy in our choices (ALBUM name).
But we also have deep sorrow if our choices are not   what God's would be.

HUMOR:  The ending Lion roar was contributed by Johnny Kyle... who added it while I was in the sound room listening through earphones as we reviewed the vocal track just recorded.  And  I  REALLY jumped!  We were listening "loudly" to ensure I wasn't drifting off key!  I pray that it will startle you as much as it startled me and usually does at the end of each review because I keep forgetting about it....

Just as we all tend to FORGET  that JESUS HIMSELF said that Satan IS VERY real...
and a destroying, angry being out to destroy you (John 10:10, 8:44).
Satan is not just a verbal image of evil.  BUT we have the opportunity to call the
GREAT LION OF JUDAH, our LORD GOD,  to protect us!

Song Story:  THE  LYRICS:
Dedicated to God our Protector, 25 June 2012, renewed 9.17.13

LYRICS
VERSE 1  (with echoes)
God is  (God is)  God is
(God is) Great  Lion of Judah!  (God is)
God is (God is)  God is  (God is) my Lion Protector.  Our
Lion God will protect all who call upon His Name.
Whatever troubles come our way, we can reach for GOD's mane.

God's SUPPORTING WORDS:READING 1.   God's Hosea 5:14 words of power say He'll both defend His people,  but also   devour   those who do NOT respect Him.  God says,
“For I will be like a lion to Ephraim, like a great lion to Judah.
I will tear them to pieces and go away; I will carry them off,  with
no one to rescue them.”     -- Hosea 5:14,  words from our Lion of Judah.

CHORUS
We are (we are) we the lion cubs God calls.
God covers and defends His cubs -- us who obey our LORD.
We are
(we are) we the lion cubs God calls.
God covers and defends His cubs--those who obey our LORD.

God's SUPPORTING WORDS:
READING 2.   God warns us in First Peter 5:8:  “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary, the devil, walks about like a roaring  lion, seeking who he may devour.”
.
VERSE 2  (with echoes)
Satan is  (Satan is)  Satan is  (Satan is)  the lion who hates us  (Satan is)
But if  (But if)  we don't (we don't)  choose God,  Satan is our choice.
Jesus said there's no in between:  You choose Satan or Him.
WHO COVERS AND BRINGS GOOD TO ALL WHO COME TO GOD AND PRAY?

READING 3.   First Peter 5:8:  “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary, the devil, walks about like a roaring  lion....”

     WHICH  LION  DO YOU *CHOOSE
                      TO FOLLOW?
If you don't choose God,  SATAN
is the choice that you get.

CHORUS
We are (we are) we the lion cubs God calls.
God covers and defends His cubs -- us who obey our LORD.
We are
(we are) we the lion cubs God calls.
God covers and defends His cubs--

those who obey our LORD.         Deut. 29-31
